SCENE 1: REFLECTION
Of all the images, I prefer the image with the selective focus (f 4.0) on the middle figure (Set 2) of the letterpress postcard with the text, "Be Too Kind to Ignore".  With the aperture, all the way open, the items in the foreground and background are blurred which brings my eye directly to the postcard. The focus on the card lets me read the text and see the design without the distraction of the other items. The literal selective focus also complements the text on the card, as you cannot ignore it since it is the only item in focus, making it the priority.

SCENE 2: REFLECTION
Of all the three images of Scene 2, I prefer the image with the selective focus (f 4.0) on Hyde the Vulture. With the aperture all the way open, the items in the background are blurred, which I prefer in this case because there are a lot of extra things that create a “busy” background. The background items distract from the focal point of this image, the faux vulture. Since the day was mostly overcast, I feel the combination with the blurred background helped to create a more appropriate mood for the subject.
